Hi Jeremy,
Thanks for visiting planDisney! What a Bibbidi Bobbidi bummer that your family member is unable to join you on your trip. It sounds like you have a heart as big as Dumbo’s, because you’re ready to spread some happiness to someone else. Well, call me your magical apprentice, because I’m here to help you spread the magic!
As long as the ticket is wholly unused and unexpired, you can transfer it to someone else. Tickets are not fully assigned to a guest until they scan into the parks; so you're all set to add another member to your fairytale trip.
Now, let’s get into more detail about how you’ll claim your tickets at the park. There are
new turnstiles at the Disneyland Resort parks that make scanning in a larger group much faster. You’ll approach the turnstile and scan each ticket (either a paper barcode or a digital one through the
Disneyland Mobile App). As you scan each ticket, the person using it will take a photo using the screen, and that’s when the ticket becomes officially assigned to them. It’s a good idea to familiarize yourself with the new process if you haven’t been to the parks in a while.
Since you’re from California, Jeremy, there’s a good chance I’m talking to a seasoned Disneyland visitor. If that’s the case for both you and your new group member, they may already have their own MyDisney account and might want to link their ticket to it. If so, I recommend calling
Disney Ticket Services to help complete the transfer from one MyDisney account to another. When you call, be sure to have the following information ready:
* The full name of the person receiving the ticket
* Their MyDisney account email
* Their phone number
I hope this information helps, Jeremy. If you have any other questions or need help with future planning, feel free to write back to me or one of my fellow panelists. We’re always here to sprinkle a little extra pixie dust on your Disney adventures.
Hope you all have a magical trip!
