Ahoy, Michael!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you for writing us such an important question. My mom was extremely afraid of water when we took her on her first
Disney Cruise. She loves telling the story that the second she stepped onboard, she forgot that she was actually on a ship floating in the ocean! The size and beauty of the Lobby Atrium will take your breath away and calm your nerves!
If you're nervous about seeing the ocean, the ships are so large with so much to do in the interior that I suggest enjoying all the fun onboard the inside of the ship before venturing out on deck. This will give you a chance to get your sea legs under you!
Speaking of sea legs, many people's fear of cruising stems from the possibility of getting seasick. If you think you'll be sensitive to the motion of the ocean, I recommend bringing some over-the-counter Dramamine with you, just in case. If you get onboard and are really having a rough time with feeling ill, don't hesitate to visit the
Health Center! The medical personnel will do their best to help you feel better so you can have an enjoyable rest of your voyage!
Michael, it's hard to describe, but once you get onboard, you'll immediately see and feel the size of the ship. It's less like a "boat" and more like a Resort hotel floating on water! If you have any other questions before setting sail, please don't hesitate to visit us again and ask! We want this cruise with your wife to be smooth-sailing and fun for you!
