Michael, welcome back to planDisney, and thanks for coming back with another great question. It sounds like you may have just wrapped up a
Disney Cruise Line sailing and wisely took advantage of the onboard placeholder for a future cruise. Smart move. I am always happy to talk about what Disney calls a
Land and Sea Disney adventure.
I was lucky enough to experience my first Land and Sea trip when I met my
planDisney 2024 classmates, and it was a true
Disney Dream. I also used an onboard placeholder and paired a sailing on the Disney Fantasy for a
Very Merrytime Cruise with a stay at Walt Disney World, including my first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. It is a tough experience to top and one my family and I will never forget.
As far as savings go, there is no bundled discount for combining a Disney Cruise Line vacation with a Walt Disney World stay before or after your cruise. That said, there are still some real advantages to pairing the two. One of the biggest perks is Disney Cruise Line's ground transportation. You can be picked up directly from your
Disney Resorts Collection hotel and transported to Port Canaveral. In many cases, this can also mean an earlier port arrival group, giving you more time to enjoy the ship once you board. On our trip, having our bags collected from our Resort room, watching Disney movies on the ride to port, and walking onto the ship stress-free was worth it on its own.
To help stretch your budget, I recommend checking the
Special Offers, Packages and More page on the Walt Disney World website to see if there are any Resort offers or specially priced theme park tickets available for your travel dates. I have found some deals there that were simply too good to pass up, and ended up adding a stay I was not originally planning.
Michael, if you want to dig a little deeper into timing, Resort choices, or transportation options, channel your best Tarzan and swing back through the jungle of Disney planning to
planDisney.com. My friends and I are always happy to help you fine-tune the details of a trip like this.
See you real soon!
