My Wife and I are going to Aulani in February 2015. This is her retirement trip. We have 3 things picked out to do. The Pearl Harbor Tour, (which would you recommend?). Paradise cove Luau, ( is it worth it?), Dole Plantation Any suggestions are we

    Hi Denis,

What a lovely way to celebrate your wife's retirement, with a trip to Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa.  It sounds like you are thinking of some wonderful excursions for your trip.  I spoke with some of my fellow Disney Parks Moms Panelists to get some thoughts on your plans.

For a Pearl Harbor Tour, they suggested that you take a longer tour if your schedule allows.  This means a tour that allows you to see more of the ships and the area.  The tour that you take at Pearl Harbor might also be dictated by the availability of the tour that you want as it relates to you schedule, so do book this early.  A luau would certainly be a nice addition to any Hawaiian vacation.  If you visit tripadvisor.com and search for Paradise Cove Luau, you will find many reviews there of this luau.  Many of my fellow Disney Parks Moms Panelists also enjoyed the trip to the Dole Plantation.  As for additional excursions, they suggested that a trip to Waimea Falls is lovely.  This area includes beautiful botanical gardens.  Another suggestion was to visit the Kualoa Ranch, which includes horseback riding in beautiful setting.

You can book excursions from Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa online, or you can call 866-814-3569 to speak with a cast member to make the reservations.  I would like to thank my fellow Disney Parks Moms Panelists Erin, Kari, Andrea, and Dolly for their thoughts on this question.  Have a great time planning your vacation, Denis, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions!
