Want to take my wife to animal kingdom for her 50th bday in May. She has never been to any Disney park. She is a giraffe nut and I wanted to see if you had any special tours that had giraffes

    Hello John,

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. A milestone birthday is a perfect opportunity to visit Disney's Animal Kingdom, and Walt Disney World knows a thing or two about celebrating a 50th! When you visit be sure to stop at Guest Relations in the park and pick up a complimentary Happy Birthday button AND a First Visit button for your wife to wear. Cast members will love wishing your wife a Happy Birthday and sprinkling a little extra pixie dust on that first trip if possible.

Although there are no specific tours geared specifically towards giraffes, you will absolutely encounter them on the Kilimanjaro Safaris attraction as they roam the savanna. For a special treat, you might consider the Wild Africa Trek, a special 3 hour tour that gives you a closer view of the animals on the savanna, including giraffes. You'll also get to cross rope bridge for a bird's eye view of crocodiles below and be treated to some African inspired snacks as you relax and refuel overlooking the savanna.

You could also make a lunch or early dinner reservation nearby at Sanaa in Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village. Besides serving delicious Indian-inspired cuisine, the restaurant has huge windows that look out onto the resort's savanna where giraffes roam. You could even order a Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake as a finale to your celebration!

Hope this helps. Enjoy this special 50th birthday!
