Hi Haydee,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. First, and most importantly, please pass along my thanks to your Mother for your Father’s service in Vietnam. As military families know well, she served too by caring for your family during his service, and him upon his return. I’m so sorry to hear of his passing, and I’m sending all of you my condolences and gratitude.
Does your Mother have a valid military ID, Haydee? This is what she will need in order to purchase and activate Military-discounted Walt Disney World tickets. Because your Father was 100% disabled, and she is a non-remarried widow, it is my understanding that she should be eligible for Walt Disney World’s military discounts, but sometimes eligibility is complicated, so I am going to refer you to the experts.
I find that the staff at Shades of Green, Walt Disney World’s resort hotel for military members, are wonderfully knowledgeable and helpful with these kinds of questions. My advice is to have her call them at (407) 824-1403 to ask about her eligibility. They will be able to help her understand exactly what she’s eligible for, and help her purchase tickets and understand how the process works. There are some great discounts out there, so be sure to take a look at the
Walt Disney World Special Offers web page so you can be aware of all the possibilities.
I hope that helps, Haydee. I am always happy to help fellow military families, so please come back and see me if you have any further questions.
Have a zip-a-dee-doo-dah day,
Robyn
