Hiya Kathren!
Welcome to planDisney! I love a good nighttime spectacular, it's the perfect way to end a day in the parks. Let's talk about your
entertainment options! The entertainment calendar is usually available around six weeks in advance, but you have found one of my favorite planning tips: we can use dessert parties and viewing packages to get an idea of what the schedule will be for some shows!
World of Color is gorgeous and the dessert party is my all-time favorite way to enjoy the show. The entertainment calendar doesn't show the dates of your visit quite yet, but it does look like the show isn't on the schedule after September 8th right now. We should get a better idea of the plan for your dates in the next couple of weeks, but the fact that the dessert party isn't available to book does lead me to think that the show might be dark for a few weeks.
I'm sorry if the show isn't happening during your visit! I do think it's worth it to keep checking as the dates get closer since entertainment plans can change. As an alternative, I would recommend heading over to Disneyland Park to enjoy Fantasmic! This is the nighttime spectacular that I grew up with and I love the music and story. That show does have dining packages that help you get a better viewing spot, too!
I also see some spooky Halloween-themed fireworks on the calendar for
Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort. You can view fireworks in Disneyland Park from Main Street, U.S.A., but I also like watching them from the area near "it's a small world" toward the back of the park. There's a bit more space back there, and it's easier to stay in the park for more fun after the fireworks from that area!
Safe travels, Kathren! I hope you have a wonderful time at the Disneyland Resort.
Keep moving forward!
Amanda
