Why are stroller wagons not allowed? If they are within the stroller size requirements can we bring it in?

    Hello Jessica!

Welcome to planDisney! As a mom of four, I spent more than a decade pushing a stroller through Disney parks. With my oldest now in college and my youngest finally able to handle the walking, we made our first ever stroller-free visit this past summer! While it was nice not to have to push the stroller through the crowds, I did kind of miss the convenient place to store my park bag and drink!

As a Guest just like you, I’m not aware of the specific reason why Disney decided several years ago that stroller wagons would no longer be permitted in the parks. I would assume that there must be a good reason and that it likely has to do with either space constraints, perhaps an increase in the number of other Guests being hit in the ankles by these wagons, or possibly even kids falling out. Mickey surely has a good reason.

The current Disneyland Resort Rules do give specific dimensions for strollers, but it also explicitly states that wagons and stroller wagons are not permitted. So, even if your wagon is within the size requirements, you would not be allowed to bring it into the park. The only exception to this is for young children with disabilities that require the use of a wagon. If you see these in the theme parks, they are given a special tag since they are an accommodation for a disability. This is similar to the program that offers tags to standard strollers for children that use that stroller as a wheelchair and need that stroller to enter the ride queue rather than parking it outside the attraction.

If you don’t have a standard-style stroller that fits the size requirements, Disneyland does offer stroller rentals at the theme parks. I recommend you bring a brightly colored ribbon bandana to tie around the handle of your stroller. This will help you find it in the crowded stroller parking areas!

I hope this helps with your planning, Jessica!

    Have a Magical Day!
