Why when I put the number of people it appear red

    Hi Taquoyah!

Welcome to planDisney! We're so glad that you found us hEAR!

I'm going to be honest, Taquoyah, in that I don't have the proper magic mirror to pull up your profile to see where you're having a bit of trouble. I'm so sorry that I'm not sure which number you're referring to or where you see red, so I'm going to share some all-around helpful numbers and hope it helps. If not, you are more than welcome to write us back with more information. You can even reach out to a panelist directly by clicking their profile and then clicking the blue 'Get an Answer from this Panelist' box on the right side of the screen!

~Disneyland Resort Hotel Rooms hold a maximum number of Guests depending upon room type. The search function on the website is actually asking how many people are you trying to place in one room reservation and will only show larger rooms, like suites, if you count everyone in your immediate travel party (ex: your parents + your siblings + their kids + your kids) in that search. If you search for a room for just your family size (ex: you + a spouse + 2 kids) and you're shown a room that is meant to hold four or five, but then you add extra bodies to the search, the room will no longer appear as available.

~Dining Reservations can be made starting 60 days in advance of your Disney days, every day. These bookings open at 3:00 A.M. PST and the most popular locations do fill up fast. Table sizes are still a bit limited right now due to reopening procedures. Disney is also still trying to keep tables as socially distanced as possible, so those who are looking for tables to seat a party larger than six (6) might have some trouble. The workaround is to search for and book multiple reservations for the same dining location as close to the same seating time as possible. Then when you arrive at the dining location, ask to be seated near the other table.

~Disneyland Theme Park Admission Tickets as well as Park Pass Reservations both need to be purchased and notated in advance to tell Mickey which park you'll be visiting on which day. Reservations for booking both open 120 days in advance of each Disney day, so when looking at the Park Pass Reservation Calendar as well as the Ticket Availability Calendar for potential visits that are within a few weeks or a few days away, it's possible that there are only a handful of tickets and park pass spots available. There truly could be a difference in availability where a smaller group of three could find reservations but a larger party of eight might not. The good thing to keep in mind is that these reservations are fluid, so as other Guests change or cancel their plans you should be able to swoop in and make Park Pass Reservations; it might have to be done in smaller groups, like literally making a reservation for your spouse and one kid on one day, checking back a few hours later to see if you can find another open reservation for another child or family member, and then checking back in the next few hours and days to see if you can find one for yourself. But it has been known to be done.

I hope that one of the above scenarios applied to your current Disneyland Resort planning sEARch, Taquoyah. If not we'd love to see you again!

    ~Kristen N.
