Hi Alicia!
I’m so happy to hear you’ve been reading through some previous questions and answers from our panelists as you prepare for your vacation. Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
Let’s talk about the differences between the Lightning Lane Pass options.
Lightning Lane Single Pass is available for the most in-demand attractions in each theme park. At this time, the rides available with Single Pass are Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Hollywood Studios, Avatar Flight of Passage in Animal Kingdom, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and TRON Lightcycle / Run in Magic Kingdom.
Lightning Lane Multi Pass allows you to select arrival windows for up to three experiences before your park visit. As you redeem your Lightning Lane experiences,
you can continue to make new Lightning Lane selections for later in the day, subject to availability. If you have a Park Hopper ticket, you can make Multi Pass selections for other parks after redeeming your first scheduled selection. Multi Pass also includes
Disney PhotoPass downloads of your attraction photos and videos from throughout your day.
Lightning Lane Premier Pass gives you one-time Lightning Lane entrance to each eligible experience in a park for one day. You do not need to schedule the arrival window in advance, you can just walk up to the Lightning Lane queue and scan your admission media! The Premier Pass is only valid for the theme park you select when purchasing, you cannot Park Hop to use the Premier Pass at another theme park on the same day. Premier Pass also includes the digital downloads of Disney PhotoPass photos from the attractions.
You can purchase any combination of Lightning Lane Single Pass, Multi Pass, and Premier Pass for the same park on the same day. While the Premier Pass gives you access to each attraction, it is one time at each ride. At Magic Kingdom, if you think you’d like to ride TRON twice, you can use Premier Pass and Single Pass to get Lightning Lane entry. If you’re interested in using Lightning Lane entry to ride Haunted Mansion twice, you could use Premier Pass and Multi Pass.
Standby lines are currently available for all attractions in Magic Kingdom, so if you don’t purchase Lightning Lane or decide to purchase one type of Lightning Lane Pass, you can still wait in a standby queue.
Guests staying at Disney Resorts can purchase their Lightning Lane Passes up to 7 days in advance of their arrival. Guests not staying at a Disney Resort can purchase their Lightning Lane Passes up to 3 days before their park visit. You will select your attractions and arrival windows for Multi Pass and Single Pass at the time of purchase. As I stated previously, you do not need to schedule arrival times when using Premier Pass.
I hope this explanation helps, Alicia! Based on the date you provided, your Lightning Lane purchase window will open soon, and you can choose the Pass or Passes that meet your vacation needs. If you need any more help, please submit another question to
planDisney, we’d love to help you! Enjoy your magical vacation.
