Why is my online check in still pending?

    Ahoy there, Robert!

Welcome aboard planDisney! With your sailing just a few short days away, I totally understand wanting to make sure everything is shipshape with your Online Check-In so embarkation day feels as smooth as a glide down the bayou with Louis playing his trumpet for Tiana.

My crew and I sailed on the Wish just two weeks ago, and the status of everyone’s Online Check-In was definitely something many cruisers were keeping their eyes on. It almost became the unofficial pre-cruise hobby, like checking the weather forecast before a day at sea. For our sailing, Disney completed their review for most Guests on the day prior to our embarkation day. The Online Check-In for some Guests did not get completed prior to checking in at the terminal, so seeing that “pending” message this close to sailing is actually pretty common.

I recommend keeping an eye on your email, as you will generally receive an email verification once your Online Check-In has been finalized. If there is an issue with any of your photos or travel documents, you will usually receive an email for this as well, letting you know to resubmit. Sometimes it can be something as simple as a photo background, lighting, or cropping that needs a quick redo. It’s a little like when Remy adjusts the seasoning just a bit to make the dish perfect. Small tweaks can make everything come together just right.

If your check-in is not finalized prior to embarkation day, it is totally okay. The friendly Cast Members at the cruise terminal will make sure you and your crew have everything on course for your cruise. Just remember to keep all your travel documents with you in your carry-on bag so they can verify all the details if needed. That way, you’re ready to go the moment your boarding group is called and can focus on stepping into the Grand Hall and soaking in that first magical moment.

I hope this helps settle those last-minute nerves and lets you focus on the fun that’s just ahead. Before long, that pending status may flip to complete, and you’ll be counting down the final hours until you step onboard and start making memories.

Sea ya real soon as springtime magic carries us from one adventure to the next,
