Using a
MagicBand during your upcoming stay makes entering the theme parks, opening the door to your Disney resort hotel room, and redeeming your
Lightning Lanes super convenient and easy! You can also use your band to add your
Disney PhotoPass pictures to your My Disney Experience account and make purchases without having to dig through your park bag for your wallet.
Trisha, there are a few important notes to keep in mind when it comes to ordering a MagicBand ahead of your arrival. The first is that MagicBands can only be ordered through
the Walt Disney World website; they currently cannot be purchased through the
My Disney Experience app. To get started on your order,
click on the My Disney Experience tab of the website. Then choose
My MagicBands and Cards from the drop-down menu. Below your Disney Resort hotel reservation details should be an option to
Get Started. Click this, and follow the remaining prompts to get your band ordered in a few easy steps.
Other tips to keep in mind include that you must
have a reservation at a Disney Resort hotel (Good Neighbor locations do not qualify). You will also need to be the owner of your My Disney Experience account, meaning it was set up by you and not by a friend or family member. I also want to mention that if your trip is less than six days away, you will not see this option. But you will still be able to purchase a MagicBand when you arrive! MagicBands can be found in many retail locations throughout the parks and Disney Resort hotels. Once you pick your favorite new accessory, a friendly Cast Member can help walk you through setup too.
