Why will it not let me make plans for 2025?

    Hi Amanda!

Welcome to planDisney!  Like Rapunzel, I often spend time looking out of my window and dreaming, but my daydreams are often about my next visit to Walt Disney World Resort!  I'm sure you're excited to start planning for your vacation next year, so let's talk about what you can be doing right now.

Currently, guests can book vacation packages through the end of 2024.  While I don't know exactly when reservations will open for 2025, I can tell you that in the last few years, they opened around the end of May/beginning of June.  I recommend keeping an eye on the official Walt Disney World social media channels and the Disney Parks Blog for upcoming announcements in the weeks and months ahead!

The first decision I always make when planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation is where I'm going to stay.  While you can't officially make reservations yet, you can start exploring all of your options in the Disney Resorts Collection and narrowing down your resort choices.  In your search, you'll find something for every budget and vacation need available - from whimsical and value-priced hotels to luxurious deluxe accommodations.  I'm happy to share with you a few of my favorites!

    • Value Resort - Disney's All-Star Movies Resort - I stayed here on a solo visit and thought the theming of the whole resort was adorable!  It's the perfect place if you're planning to prioritize your time and experiences in the theme parks.  The addition of table beds since my last stay means that you can also create more space in your room.  I will point out though that renovations are planned on the main pool from January to April next year.  There is a second pool at the resort that will remain available, but if swimming is important, you may want to consider another resort in this category.
    • Moderate Resort - Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort - There is so much to love about this property and it's a great value for its price.  You'll find a laid-back, relaxing island vibe all around the resort with hammocks and palm trees scattered throughout.  There is a great restaurant on-site in Sebastian's Bistro too!  Perhaps the best feature of this property is that it serves as the hub for the Disney Skyliner which means you'll have easy access to both EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios.  It's been a while since I've stayed here, but it's on the short list of vacation properties to visit again soon!
    • Deluxe Resort - Disney's Contemporary Resort - I first stayed here in 2013 and was fortunate to have visited again just a few weeks ago.  That December visit reminded me of why this is such a great choice for families!  Magic Kingdom Park is just a short 10-15  minute walk from the resort and you have popular dining choices here at Chef Mickey's and California Grill.  At night, you can even catch a glimpse of the fireworks from the park!
Amanda, I hope you have a wonderful time dreaming about and planning for your upcoming vacation!  Remember, you've got a friend in me here at planDisney!  Stop by and see us again real soon!

    Cheers,
    Kristi
