Hi Leslie,
Thanks for visiting planDisney! No trip is complete without a Mickey Waffle or two for breakfast.
Storytellers Café is a great place for character dining at breakfast and lunch. Bring a big appetite and a camera so you can snap a photo with Mickey and his friends in their adorable outdoorsy outfits.
Dining reservations can usually be made about 60 days in advance. From my own personal experience, places like Storytellers Café are really popular, and reservations are picked up quickly. At the time of this response, I can see there are no reservations available until April 11.
Don’t let that discourage you, Leslie! I recommend tying to make a reservation on the day of your visit. On my last trip to the Grand Californian, I was unable to make advance reservations for my daughter and me to have breakfast at the Storytellers Café. In the morning, we went down and spoke with a Cast Member at the front desk of the restaurant to see if there was any walk-up availability. With a little faith, trust, and pixie dust, we were able to get a reservation for a bit later in the morning. You can also join the Walk-up List through the Disneyland app. When you launch the app, search for Storytellers Café. When the restaurant appears, you will see the option to “Join Walk-up List.” For this option to work, you’ll need to enable location settings for your phone.
If there are no reservations available at Storytellers Café, I recommend checking out
Goofy’s Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel or the
Plaza Inn inside Disneyland for an alternate breakfast character dining.
I hope this information was helpful, Leslie. Your vacation overlaps with the
Food and Wine Festival (Feb. 28–April 21) at Disney California Adventure. Be sure to try all the tasty food and delicious beverages! I hope the BBQ Beef Brisket Slider is back from
last year. If you have any other questions or need help planning, feel free to write back to me or one of my fellow panelists. We’d be happy to share our thoughts.
Wishing you the best of luck!
