Why on March 4 & 5 are both parks closed earlier than normal? On the 5th it’s Disney Channel Nite - but what’s with the 4th? Those are the days we will be there. Are fireworks or night time entertainment going to be available?

Hey there Danielle, thanks for stopping by planDisney with your great question.

How exciting that your trip to the "Happiest Place on Earth" is coming up so soon!  The hours & events calendar is a great resource for planning your trip, and it looks like there are no early closures on March 4 at the current time.  You are correct that the Disneyland After Dark: Disney Channel Nite event will be taking place on March 5, and Disneyland Park will be closing at 8:00 PM for Guests who do not have tickets to the special event.

We always get to the parks for "rope drop" before they are scheduled to open, and I highly recommend getting to the parks as early as you can on March 5 since Disneyland Park will be closing a bit early.  The parks are usually less busy first thing in the morning, and you can get so much accomplished during those first few hours!

I always recommend checking the entertainment schedule prior to your trip, and it looks like on March 4, Mickey's Mix Magic with Projection as well as the "Magic Happens" Parade are scheduled to take place at Disneyland Park.  Mickey's Mix Magic is a fun, energetic show that is impossible to not sing along with, and "Magic Happens" is one of our favorite Disney parades, you'll get to see so many of your favorite Disney characters!  I would keep an eye on the schedule as your trip gets closer, but those are both great options.

World of Color - ONE is also scheduled for both March 4 and 5 at Disney California Adventure Park at 9:00 PM.  This show is absolutely magical, the additions of the Star Wars and Marvel scenes will give you chills!  This is a wonderful entertainment option, and I highly recommend trying to join the virtual queue in the Disneyland app starting at 12:00 PM (noon) to receive access to a preferred viewing area in Paradise Gardens Park.  Even if you do not join the virtual queue, there are still plenty of great spots to view the show!

I hope this helps answer your question, Danielle!  If we can help with any other questions for your upcoming trip, please come back and ask.

    Have a magical day!
