Disney Magic! I know you’re probably looking forward to the fun things you’re going to do on board, including getting in some movie screening time at the
Buena Vista Theatre. I would be happy to answer your question regarding the upcoming release of
Toy Story 5 and whether it will be playing on board your cruise.
Like you, one of my favorite parts about a Disney cruise is the
first-run Disney movies! It’s very cool to be able to come back and tell my friends and family that I just watched the newest Disney release on board my cruise!
But the schedule for the movie releases for sailings that are further away, or movies that have not yet been released, requires us to have a bit more patience that stretches “to infinity and beyond,” as my friend Buzz Lightyear would say. So when my planPal,
Tony, answered the
question regarding movies on board the July 2nd-9th Alaskan sailing,
Toy Story 5 was still not part of that movie schedule.
I contacted Disney Cruise Line, and a Cast Member told me that, as of today’s date, it is not yet guaranteed that
Toy Story 5 will be playing on board your sailing. However, both the Cast Member and I agree that, based on previous new Disney movie releases playing during sailings,
Toy Story 5 will possibly be playing on board, but again, not guaranteed, as offerings are always subject to change.
More information can be provided closer to your sailing date, with the most up-to-date information provided in the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App at the port on the day you embark on your Disney cruise. My suggestion is that once you get to the port, log in to the ship's Wi-Fi, and open up the "Live Shows and Movies" section of the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App, where you can see a complete list of all the movies playing on board your cruise.
