Why are Fantasmic and Wondrous Journeys (with fireworks) not being showed during all days of spring break peak season 2023 at Disneyland?

    Hi there, Ivan,

I do enjoy a good fireworks show. And watching Fantasmic! during a visit to the Disneyland Resort as a teenager cemented my love for nighttime spectaculars in general. So I understand that feeling of disappointment if a special show you look forward to isn’t currently scheduled during your visit.

Most of the nighttime spectaculars at the Disneyland Resort usually run on weekends. To accommodate the increase in visitors during certain popular seasons such as Spring Break, additional shows are often added to the entertainment schedule. Unfortunately, not all school calendars line up with each other. For example, the Anaheim area schools have their 2023 Spring Break scheduled for the last week of March this year. The Disneyland Resort is an especially popular destination during Spring Break. If your scheduled Spring Break happens before the breaks scheduled for schools of most other Guests visiting the Disneyland Resort this spring, you may miss out on added nightly entertainment options. But on the positive side, you might actually expect somewhat lower numbers of Guests overall. That could translate into lower attraction wait times and more availability for dining, including mobile food and beverage order return times during your visit.

Tony’s Tips: If you are looking for a truly immersive experience during Wondrous Journeys, I recommend finding a spot on Main Street, U.S.A. With projections on both sides of the street, you’ll feel like you are inside the stories of 100 years of Disney classics. If fire is what you are looking for, you won’t want to miss World of Color - ONE in Disney California Adventure Park. My family and I wanted to stay away from the splash zone. But even from our spot further back in the viewing area, we could feel the heat of the pyrotechnics elements of that amazing show.

To add some extra magic and your own personal light show, you may be interested in buying an optional MagicBand+ to use during your visit. It’s great for use at the entrances of the parks and Lightning Lane queues. But there is even more magic as you see it light up and generate haptic vibrations in sync with select entertainment, including Wondrous Journeys and World of Color - One.

I hope your experience at the Disneyland Resort is magical, Ivan!
