Why do some excursions have a start time earlier than the arrival to port time?

    Welcome Aboard, Veronica!
Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel with your question.

Disney Cruise Line has an awesome assortment of Port Adventures available, providing guests with the best leisure, recreation and sightseeing opportunities at each port of call. When you book a Port Adventure, you'll have excursion tickets waiting in your stateroom upon arrival. Printed on the ticket will be a meeting time and location.

On the day of your excursion, you'll bring your tickets and signed waivers to the meeting location designated on the ticket. Sometimes the meeting time will be earlier than the arrival to port time, to ensure the group is gathered and ready to go as soon as guests are cleared to disembark. Port Adventure groups will be given colored stickers to identify which excursion they're a part of. When it's time to disembark, a crew member will lead the group off the ship and onward to splashtacular fun in port!

I hope this answers your question!
