Greetings, and welcome to
planDisney, John, we thank you for your excellent question!
John, the return of the infamous
Disney Dining Plans weighs heavily on the minds and empty stomachs of many return Guests, including myself. My family relied heavily on the freedom and flexibility of participating in a Disney Dining Plan, and we loved knowing our complete Walt Disney World Resort vacation package was paid off in advance. All my husband had to worry about was me and my penchant for souvenir impulse buying.
As Walt Disney World Resort’s operational guidelines and safety protocols emerged in response to Covid-19, for the safety of Guests our happy place closed, and when the Disney Parks re-opened, Disney Dining venues drastically modified their practices and/or placed Disney Character meet and greets on hold, capacity limits were altered to adhere to physical distancing guidelines set forth by health professionals. This is why, I continually refer to the evolving
Walt Disney World Resort operational guidelines as measures seem to be cautiously relaxing, and let’s hope they continue to follow this positive path toward an eventual full re-opening. And, of course, we all cannot wait for the full
Disney Character dining experiences as they once were.
John, I also keep a close watch over the official
Disney Parks Blog for the latest updates on the hopeful return of the Disney Dining Plans as well as all other Disney-related information. You may also wish to follow
planDisney on Instagram and

Recently, I booked a stay through The Walt Disney Travel Company at the Walt Disney World Swan, and I was eligible for the
Quick-Service Dining Card, which I enjoyed immensely – I found that the daily fund allotment was generous enough that I had remaining funds left each day, that's pretty surprising since I'm a huge foodie!
John, I hope that as I write this response to you, something magical will happen with the return of the ever-popular Disney Dining Plans – let’s keep wishing, shall we?
In the meantime, the
Walt Disney World Resort – Special Offers, Deals & Discounts are some of the best I’ve ever seen. As well,
Disney Cruise Line has announced incredible savings for members of Disney+ now there’s a different way to enjoy practically all-inclusive dining! Now, what I do, is load my
Disney Gift Card and use that to pay for my Disney Dining.
Thank you once again, for consulting planDisney, I look forward to offering my first-hand advice with your future Walt Disney World Resort or even a Disney Cruise Line vacation, or a
Disney Vacation by Land and Sea, how great would that be!
Best Disney Dishes and Wishes!
