Hey there, Joseph! Welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad that you've stopped by with your vacation planning question.
Joseph, if you are anything like me, the dining experiences and yummy snacks are half the fun of a
Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Even though I've traveled to The Most Magical Place on Earth over 30 times, I always make sure to add a new restaurant to my must-try list to keep every trip fresh and exciting. I actually just made my dining reservations for my upcoming trip this morning, and I am more than happy to help you make yours.
If you are staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel, you do get the benefit of booking your
dining reservations for the entire length of your stay, up to ten days, 60 days before your arrival. My strategy is to use the
My Disney Experience website and app to book the harder-to-get dining reservations of the super popular restaurants towards the end of my trip so that there is more availability and more options.
If you are staying in one of the Disney Resorts and you were not able to book your reservations for your entire stay at one time, you are not alone. The same thing happened to me this morning. For some reason, even though my booking window was open, I was only able to make reservations on my first vacation day on the My Disney Experience website and app. Let's chat about some troubleshooting tips that helped me a bit. First, I completed my Resort's Online Check-in on My Disney Experience so that the system would recognize my Resort reservation, and that seemed to work! After I checked in, logged off and back in, the system allowed me to make reservations for some restaurants for my entire length of stay. I did, however, continue to have some technical difficulties for certain restaurants and had to call (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463 and have a very helpful Cast Member book the rest of my reservations. I hope that this also works for you and you get every restaurant on your wish list, Joseph!
While I had the Cast Member on the phone, I also booked a
Beachcomber Shack at
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park for my May vacation! Have you heard of these, Joseph?! They are private, shaded areas with comfy chairs, towels, endless cold water, and a helpful attendant at Typhoon Lagoon. They seem like the perfect way to relax in between all of the fun at Typhoon Lagoon, and I can't wait to give it a try! I did get to relax in one of these Shacks while recording the very first planDisney Podcast episode, during which my planDisney pals and I discussed everything Spring Break and Disney's Typhoon Lagoon! I will link it here so you can give it a watch or a listen at your leisure. I hope you find the tips and tricks helpful for your upcoming spring adventure!
Joseph, I hope that you get to enjoy every dining experience on your must-do list! Don't forget that you can use mobile ordering on your My Disney Experience app for the Quick Service restaurants and even for to-go orders from some of the Table Service restaurants! This makes it easy to never feel a rumbly in your tumbly while enjoying your pixie-dusted vacation. Please feel free to stop by any time with any vacation planning questions you may have!
I hope to see ya real soon,
Mandy
