Why cant I book 2 separate reservations for different members of my party at the same time? Ex. 2 at 8:15am and 4 at 8:45am. I am traveling with 6 people.

Hi Melanie!  I will assume you are talking about dining reservations from your question. I understand how frustrating this can be when you are trying to get a larger group to eat at the same time. I have found that I have better luck calling the dining reservation number and actually talking with a cast member versus working it out on line. 407-939-3463

When using your My Disney Experience account to try to make dining reservations it will only allow you to make one reservation at a specific time. When you try to make the second reservation within an hour or so of the first one it will ask you to choose one or the other. Trust me I know how frustrating this can be since your first attempt of trying for a party of 6 was not available but a party of 2 and a party of 4 could be accommodated.

What I have done in the past is to use my husband's account to secure the reservation for four persons and then my account to secure the reservation for two persons within a close time period. You may all check in at the same time and you can mention that the two reservations are actually together and they can see if they can seat you at one table. Tables of five and more are at a premium in most restaurants so please do not expect them to be able to help.  If they can you will be pleasantly surprised and will have a magical moment. The important thing is that you have a dining reservation and can sit and relax and enjoy that hour or so without being on your feet amidst the crowd and noise of the park.

Hope this helps you understand the on line system and how you can arrange to get your party to eat at the same time. Hopefully, you are able to snag some awesome dining at the wonderful Disney restaurants in and out of the parks!
