Why can't I make advanced dining reservations months in advance if I have hotel reservations? Planning a trip for December and booked hotel reservations in June, but can't make reservations until 60-90 days out?

    Hello, Jourdan. Welcome to planDisney

A trip to the most magical place on earth is even more special in December. The parks are dressed up in their holiday best and it is so festive and fun. You are going to love it!

Jourdan, right now Guests are able to make advanced dining reservations 60 days in advance for the length of their stay up to 10 days. If you are checking in to a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel on December 4th of this year, you can make your advanced dining reservations starting on October 5th, 2022. You can make your advanced dining reservations online via your MyDisneyExperience account starting at 6:00 a.m. Mickey Mouse's time or over the phone by calling 407-WDW-DINE starting at 7:00 a.m. Some of the best places to eat do fill up rather quickly so I'd recommend setting that alarm for bright and early and being up and logged in right before that 6:00 a.m. timeframe. Guests used to be able to make advanced dining reservations 180 days in advance but after the shutdown, due to COVID-19 the policy changed a little bit for the reopening. This timeframe seems to work out well and they've decided to keep it in place for the time being.

This gives you plenty of time to research and plan exactly where you'd like to dine during your vacation, Jourdan. My go-to spot right now is The BOATHOUSE at Disney Springs. The restaurant is nestled right on the lake and provides stunning views as the sun goes down in the evening. There is something on the menu for everyone but right now I am stuck on the lobster rolls served warm with butter and I always upgrade to the truffle fries. Delicious!

I hope this helps you plan out your itinerary, Jourdan. If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop back by and ask me

    Happy planning!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
