Why should I buy theme park tickets before I get to the park?

    Hi, Emily!

Thanks so much for sending your question to Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I'm a planner, so I like to take care of details as much as possible prior to arrival. As such, we always buy our tickets in advance.

Guests who are planning to explore all of the magic of Walt Disney World can opt to purchase their Theme Park Tickets right at the ticket booths by the park gates. However, I recommend purchasing them in ahead of time--at least 30 to 60 days in advance, actually--so that Guests can take early advantage of FastPass+. There are so many fantastic and fun attractions throughout the four theme parks, and you'll get to experience even more of them by utilizing this great, complimentary benefit in order to cut down on your wait time.

Once you purchase your theme park ticket, link it to your My Disney Experience account. Then, 30 days prior to arrival (60 days, if staying at a Disney Resort HotelDisney Springs Area Hotel, or other select nearby hotel), choose up to three FastPass + selections in one park per day of your stay.  You may choose another FastPass+ experience once you have ridden the first three. After that fourth ride, select a fifth and so on. Once you have ridden the original three, those later FastPass+ options can be made for any of the four theme parks if you have a Theme Park Ticket plus Park Hopper Option

An additional perk? Once you have your ticket linked to your My Disney Experience account, you can skip the line at the ticket window, heading right to the park entrance. Plus, if the cost of a ticket increases prior to your arrival, you've already purchased yours, so you'll be unaffected.

Send more questions as you plan your visit, Emily. We love to help!
