Why is airfare so much more expensive when booking it directly through Disney for a cruise? When we went to WDW; prices through Disney were the same as what was published on the airline's site. We r adding WDW days onto our trip- can i book through WDW?

    Hi, AnnMarie!

What I have learned over the years when planning any travel is that information is my best ally.  I have booked our family's Disney vacations in a wide variety of ways (packages and individually) from a wide variety of sources -- through Disney, AAA, small/large travel agencies and on my own. I have found that on one day I can get a great deal through one and not the other, but then if my variables change, then the offers and quotes change, too.

Therefore, my best advice is to obtain quotes from every source available to you, and of course, then go with what works best for your family.  Sometimes I have added air travel through Disney Cruise Line simply for the fact that they found an early-morning, non-stop flight from my area of the country which was not available to me online.  That becomes very important in the winter when I don't have to worry about flight delays due to snow!

If the air travel quote you receive through a Walt Disney World Resort reservation is more favorable than the one quoted to you by Disney Cruise Line, you of course will want to go with cost efficiency -- just make sure that it's one that will meet with your time schedule, too.  Best wishes as you put together a budget and plan that meet your needs.

If I can help any further, you know I'd be happy to answer more questions. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
