My whole family is traveling to Disney World this Oct, we have kids 1, 2, 4, 5 years old. We are only going to go to 1 of the water parks, which do you recommend for children that age - Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon? Thanks

    Hi Heather,

Both Blizzard Beach (BB) and Typhoon Lagoon (TL) are amazing water parks.

Typhoon Lagoon is more shaded which helps protect little ones from sun.  I also think the Ketchakiddee Creek area at Typhoon Lagoon offers more ways for parents and small kids to interact together offering 10 activity spots.  Tikes Peak at Blizzard Beach doesn't offer as many.

Having said that, the Surf Pool at Typhoon Lagoon has bigger waves and can be a little rough for young kids (even at the shallow end) so I would keep a very close eye on them.  Melt-Away Bay at Blizzard Beach offers more gentle waves.

You'll find people that will vote for Blizzard Beach and others for Typhoon Lagoon and honestly you can't go wrong.  We personally prefer Typhoon Lagoon but I know that as my boys get older they may enjoy the thrill rides at Blizzard Beach.

Wishing you many magical memories :-) Allison
