My whole family is coming to WDW in January 2015. My daughter is expecting and will be about six and a half months along. Are there electric chairs for her in case the walking gets to be too much?

    Constance:

    Hello again!

You will find it easy to rent a wheelchair or electric chair (called Electric Conveyance Vehicles at Disney, or ECV for short) at all of the four theme parks along with Downtown Disney. You'll find the rental locations near the entrance to every theme park and well-marked.

ECV rentals are on a first-come, first-served basis. Although I have never heard of a park selling out of them, their usage seems to be on the rise. Keep in mind you have the option to rent a wheelchair or contact one of the vendors in the Orlando area that Disney lists on its site here if you find them sold out. Additionally, Disney ECVs cannot leave the theme parks, so if you find your daughter needs one outside of the parks, the offsite rental agencies may be the better option anyway.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
