our whole family is celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary and also my 5 year survival of Breast Cancer during the week of March 25-31. Is there a suggestion for Christmas gifts to announce our surprise trip for sons families, grandkids, etc.

Hi Lillian! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Congratulations on 45 beautiful years of marriage, I look up to couples just like you and hope that I too can someday celebrate such a momentous occasion! Also there is nothing that makes me happier than being able to congratulate a five year cancer survivor! As an oncology nurse these are the moments that make me smile the most.

The first idea that came to mind when thinking about how you could surprise your family is to order each person a Mickey Mouse Ear Hat - Walt Disney World. You can order them from the I would save them for the last present. Before you have them open the gifts I would announce that you are starting a new family Christmas tradition called family Disney Trivia. Some of the trivia questions could be: What was the first Disney Movie that you watched? What is your favorite Disney Character? What is Mickey Mouse’s birthday? What was Walt Disney’s First job? What year was our first family trip to the Walt Disney World Resort? As your family answers the question they would each get their box to hold on to. When the game is done have all of them open their boxes and shout “WE’RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!” However you choose to surprise your family I bet that it will be a day they will never forget!

When you get to the Walt Disney World Resort, make sure you celebrate! Skip down the middle of Main Street U.S.A., take Goofy photos in front of Cinderella Castle, Soar on Dumbo the Flying Elephant with your grandbabies, hug your son and husband just a little bit tighter, and just a little bit longer. You my friend are a fighter, you are a survivor, and you deserve every bit of magic that is sure to come your way!

    Much love,
