Whole extended family traveling from Alaska, Neb. & Ore. to WDW. One of the three year olds has been waiting "his whole life" to be tall enough to go on Big Thunder Mountain - only to find out out it will be closed while he is there. Help!

Oh Timothy, I am so sorry to hear that!

I remember the excitement all to well from when my Son was finally tall enough to ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

Unfortunately, attractions are required to close from time to time to allow refurbishments to take place and unfortunately for you, this just so happens to coincide with the dates of your trip.

If the three year old in question is tall enough to ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad then they must be 40inches (102cm) or taller. Perhaps you could soften the blow by letting them know that they will be tall enough to experience some of the other more thrilling attractions during you visit such as Splash Mountain at the Magic Kingdom theme park as well as Test Track and Soarin' at Epcot theme park.

Wishing you a magical trip filled with memories which will last a lifetime!
