Hi Whitney! thx for your comments. I got a deluxe resort on site through a DVC member for LESS than a value. spending my bday in Disney after all! Pays to research! Another ? Are magic hours worth it?? Thinking I should enjoy the resort instead...

    Ann:

I'm glad you were able to find accommodations that fit your budget!  Always feel free to come here to get thoughts on area hotels.

As for Magic Hours, my advice depends on your ticket. If you have the Park Hopper option and it's Early Magic Hours, by all means, go and enjoy them.  Generally, the park with Early Magic Hours gets more crowded than the others by lunch, but with a Park Hopper, you can simply leave and visit another park.

But it sounds like you may have the basic one-park-per-day ticket, so you do need to think more strategically.  I tend to avoid the park with Early Magic Hours so I'm not locked into the afternoon crowds, but if you do decide to enjoy it, your thoughts of heading back to your resort for an afternoon swim or other fun once the parks get crowded is a good option.

As for Evening Magic Hours, it wasn't until a few recent trips that our children were old enough for us to get the most of these.  I had enjoyed the late hours on trips with friends and my husband, but not as a family and haven't found the park overly crowded throughout the day when there's Evening Magic Hours, as most folks are not going to be in a park for 15 or 18 hours.... I have to say, the Magic Kingdom becomes a ghost town after the fireworks show and this option is good if you can sleep in.... I also get a rush out of riding Expedition Everest (especially in the first car) at night!

    Wishing you a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Whitney, Mississippi

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
