Lindsey:
Thanks for coming back via my bio page for a question!
For most resorts, I usually tell guests to request amenities at Disney rather than specific buildings. For example, let Disney know you'd like to be close to the Great Ceremonial House and pool vs. the Rarotonga building. If Rarotonga is relatively full and Disney must choose another longhouse for you, they might assume you wanted Rarotonga because it not only is close to the main building (the Great Ceremonial House) but also has good views of the monorail whisking by--great for children, but not for peace and quiet... You may be put in another longhouse with lots of garden-view rooms and within feet of the monorail--the Aotearoa longhouse, nice garden views but farther away from the Great Ceremonial House.
Based on
your previous question, you mentioned that you'd like to see the fireworks. Well, if you're willing to walk just a little farther, Tokelau has garden-view rooms that may possibly get a view of the castle and fireworks. Ask for a room on the second or third floor 2901/3901 to 2913/3913 and 2939/3939 to 2948/3948. Put your request in order of what you'd like: "ability to see the castle from a garden-view room, specifically Tokelau rooms number xxxx to xxxx, proximity to Great Ceremonial House, and pool. Would like to avoid rooms that...."
Disney does its best to accommodate all requests, but especially at the very-popular Polynesian, cannot guarantee them.
Wishing y'all a magical vacation!
