Whitney, Thank you so much for your answer to my question regarding the Cabins at FW, It was very helpful and we are leaning more towards staying there. I was curious about the free dining plan and whether or not they offer it free every year, if so when?

    Jodie:

Happy I was able to help!

Although free dining is not considered an annual "event," you might think otherwise looking at the past five years......

The first year our family took advantage of Disney's free dining plan was in September of 2006.  If memory serves me correctly, I believe that was the second year it was offered, and they've offered it every mid-August to end-of-September since.  Then, last year, Disney extended free dining for select dates through the first week or so of December, and they just announced two weeks ago that they were doing it again.

(FYI: In the past, Disney has announced free dining to Visa cardholders first around mid-April and then a few days later to the general public.  Last year's announcement about the fall extension was about the same time as this year's.)

Because it's not guaranteed to come back year after year, I'm going in September again on free dining.  If you're able to work in a fall trip, you may want to click here for the details on the fall extension!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Whitney, Mississippi

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
