Whitney, I see that you like Tangierine Cafe. I've been leery to visit there due to bean and tomato allergies. What might they have that I could eat which wouldn't have hummus or tomato? I prefer checking with a real person than look at a list. ;-)

    Rochelle:

    Thanks for the question!

If you're allergic to beans, definitely stay away from the hummus which is made of chickpeas along with the falafels which are made of chickpea and fava beans....

My husband prefers to get the Lamb Wrap at Tangierine Cafe instead of the platter like me. There's a yogurt sauce on the wrap, if I recall, but no tomatoes in it. It is served with a cold lentil salad on the side, however. My recommendation would be to ask if you can substitute one of the other cold salads for it. (Tabouleah is one of the other salads and traditionally has tomatoes. I can't remember if the couscous has tomatoes in it, but it's in the case in front of you as you order and you should be able to see it easily.) If all of the salads are off-limits, you can ask for the carrots or grapes from the kid's meal or a bag of potato chips.

I would also advise you to ask for the 'ingredients book' behind the counter. In it, you'll find a listing of all the foods on the menu and their ingredients. This is the best way to check for allergy-related foods.
