Whitney, if I stay at the Swan/Dolphin with my work discount (I work for the hotel chain) can I still register for Disney's honeymoon registry? It would be nice to have the delux amenities without the price tag. Thanks

    Samantha:

Thanks for coming to the Mom's Panel for our help!

I can see where the confusion comes:   the answer to "Who can register?"  under the Honeymoon Registry FAQ only states "guests of select Disney hotels"....I couldn't find a specific list.

However, because you have to give your confirmation number for your honeymoon vacation at Disney when you create the registry, you'll only have one by booking a Disney hotel that is available under Accommodations on its registry .  As you know, the Swan & Dolphin, although located on Disney property, are actually run by the Starwood family of hotels, and Disney does not handle those reservations.

I wish I could "shower" you with the good news that you could register, but it looks like Disney's Honeymoon Registry is one of the perks of guests who choose a honeymoon at one of Disney's resort hotels--and a few non-Orlando destinations like Vero Beach!   If I were in your shoes, I'd weigh the savings of your employee discount with the possibility of the registry helping offset your expenses by providing friends and family an easy way to help make this time special--and affordable--for you and your future husband.

    Wishing you a magical honeymoon!
    Whitney

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
