Hi Whitney! What are the quick service dining options at Fort Wilderness?

    Cathy:

You have two options for Quick Service dining at Fort Wilderness: the Meadow Snack Bar located at the Meadow pool and take-out from Trail's End. Both are on the Disney Dining Plan. There's a small "chuck wagon" at Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire Sing-a-long but it's snack fare.

The homemade potato chips at the Meadow Snack Bar are a notch above the bagged ones you'd expect at a pool-side lunch counter that serves sandwiches and hot dogs. Its location in the middle of the campground typically makes it our go-to if I'm not in the mood to cook. It's not open for breakfast or dinner and closes around 5 p.m.

The to-go counter at Trail's End is where we head if the Meadow Snack Bar and Mom's Kitchen (that's me) is closed. Expect to place your order just inside the restaurant entrance which is to the left of the hostess stand and up the outside stairs. After ordering, you'll be given a lighted pager to let you know when your order is ready. You not only can order a full breakfast but also breakfast items a la carte like oatmeal and the biscuits and gravy served on the restaurant's buffet, perfect for picky eaters who won't get their money out of the full, hearty buffet. For dinner, you can order pizza, fried chicken, even chicken wings. I'm not a fan of the pizza with its pre-made crust but the chicken wings come in several flavors: buffalo, barbecue and pineapple-teriyaki. Many families opt for the yummy family chicken meal which doesn't cost a whole lot more than a national fast-food chain's. There's plenty of outdoor seating on the porch or the playground and beach if you don't want to head all the way back to your cabin or campsite.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Whitney, Mississippi

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
