Whitney, I see that you will be at Pop Century in Sept., so will we Sept. 17-22. There will be 11 of us. I have been to disney 4 times, but this will the first large group. What are some MUST see and or eat places that we could do together (5kids 12-5)

    Matyka:

It sounds like you may be taking the same approach that our family did during our trips with large groups: using a meal each day to get everyone together to share!  (The best part about this strategy was that we could then split off into groups according to the ages of the children to maximize our time in the parks!)

When it comes to restaurants, I don't know necessarily if there are "must sees" as much as there are some that will entertain everyone of any age—and some, like buffets, that are simply more accommodating to larger groups!
    • Hoop dee Doo Revue:  The entertainment as well as the all-you-can-eat buckets of ribs and chicken satisfied young and old!  Book it on your last night for a finale dinner!
    • Biergarten, Epcot:  There's nothing like getting the kids out on the dance floor for the chicken dance!  (And I can never get enough of the oompah band!) The buffet's meat and potato offerings are a home run with the guys.  Best of all, tables seat 10 (and you might be able to squeeze one on the end!)
    • Crystal Palace, Magic Kingdom:  Pooh and his friends spend plenty of time working the room.  In my opinion, the food is above average and the restaurant is a wonderful respite from the parks.
    • Ohana:  The restaurant's name means 'family.'  You may not be able to get one of the smaller tables in front of the windows, but any seat here allows you to enjoy the open kitchen, not to mention the limbo and coconut races!  Again, food is superb and plentiful!

Remember to call the Grand Gatherings number if you want to make dining reservations for more than 8 people: (407) 934-7639.  And if you have any more questions about your BIG trip, just contact me through my bio page!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Whitney, Mississippi

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
