Hi Whitney! Planning ahead for a January trip - where is a fun place for a wonderful group of friends to meet for a celebration dinner? There are usually about 8 adults who love great food and love to chat and hang out! Thanks for any ideas!

    Cathy:

Having dined at over 70 restaurants at Disney, this is a difficult task: you have SO many from which to choose. Whether your group has park tickets or not, reservations for groups are easy to make online here, posting you all your choices available.

In the parks, here are my favorites:

    • The Hollywood Brown Derby: Located inside Disney's Hollywood Studios, I have found the restaurant's neutral interior provides a respite from the parks not to mention kids while its upscale menu appeals to adult palates.
    • Monsieur Paul: A favorite of couples, you'll find it tucked upstairs unobtrusively atop the bustling, better-known Les Chefs de France at Epcot. For a dining experience sans children, delicious menu and fine wine choices, it is one of my top picks in a park. There's just something about the white table linens and quiet atmosphere that makes you feel extra special.

    Outside of the parks, consider:

    • Citricos: Fresh flavors from the Mediterranean are the star here at this Grand Floridian anchor. Ask for a window table or splurge on the chef's table.
    • California Grill: I'd dine here for the view alone, but the menu that runs from sushi to sea bass, beef filet to creme brulee creates a memorable backdrop for an evening with friends. I recommend arriving about 30 minutes before sunset. If you find yourself talking the night away, you can enjoy the Magic Kingdom's fireworks from its viewing gallery to end your evening.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!
    Whitney

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
