Whitney, in a ? you answered you talked about archery lessons. Didn't know about these, how do I book? Are they recommended for certain age groups? 2 sons 15 & 13 looking to book them some more "extras". 32 days to go, can't wait! Love the

    Tricia:

    Thanks for the followup question!

The Archery Lessons are offered for ages 6 and up, and you can find the course behind the Bike Barn at Fort Wilderness on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 2:45 to 4:15 in the afternoon.  At this time, the experience is a Disney bargain, in my opinion, and costs $26.63 per person for a 1-1/2 hour lesson.  You can call 407- 939-7529 to make the reservation.

The lesson begins with some safety tips and fitting for your bow.  You're then taken through the paces of launching a bow from the 10 foot mark up to about 30 feet.  Although I have not personally tried my hand (and arms for that matter) at it, a friend said his 13-year-old's arms were trembling afterward!  (Sounds very different from Y camp when I was in junior high!)

Fellow Moms Panelist Kay took her young grandson a month ago and could give you her personal experience if you'd like.  Just visit her bio page if you need a little more info!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation--it's almost here!

Meet the Panelist: Whitney, Mississippi

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
