Hi, Elnora! I'm so happy to have the opportunity to help you with another question here at planDisney!
During the
phased reopening of
Walt Disney World Resort, certain experiences may look a bit different from what we're used to, but the magic will still be there. Social distancing has become the new norm for all of us, and that includes Mickey Mouse, the Disney Princesses, and all the rest of your pals at The Most Magical Place on Earth. In order to keep everyone safe and healthy, Disney characters are not currently having up-close, one-on-one visits with Guests. However, I'm happy to share that
characters will still be popping up throughout Walt Disney World Resort and interacting with Guests in new and exciting ways.
Characters will be maintaining physical distance from Guests, but there are still plenty of fun interactions to be had. Cinderella's step-sisters have recently been spotted on the balcony behind Cinderella Castle. If you've never had the opportunity to chat with these ladies, I highly recommend it. They are hilarious! If you're planning to visit EPCOT, be on the lookout near the Imagination Pavilion for that silly old bear, Winnie the Pooh. Pooh Bear can be found chasing butterflies with his net, and he is downright adorable! These are just a couple examples of the characters that you might be able to spot throughout the theme parks. While you can't pose for an up-close photo with your favorite Disney friend, you're welcome to snap some selfies with the characters in the background.
In addition to these types of character encounters, be on the lookout for character cavalcades as they make their way down the Magic Kingdom Park parade route. Favorite characters will also be sailing over the waterways at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, strolling through the World Showcase promenade at EPCOT, and driving down Hollywood Boulevard at Disney's Hollywood Studios. If you're hoping to see the Disney Princesses, they have been greeting Guests during the Royal Princess Processional at Magic Kingdom Park and the Princess Promenade at EPCOT. If you have Frozen fans in your family, the Frozen Promenade has also been taking place at EPCOT.
There are also some modified versions of character dining experiences that are currently taking place throughout Walt Disney World Resort. At this time,
Topolino's Terrace,
Garden Grill Restaurant, and
Hollywood & Vine are all hosting character meals. Also, Mickey and his friends are expected to return to
Chef Mickey's on December 16, 2020. Although characters won't be stopping at Guests' tables to sign autographs, these dining experiences are still a blast. I highly recommend
booking a reservation for one of these meals.
I really think that these more spontaneous character encounters enhance the magical atmosphere of the theme parks, and I hope that you and your family will enjoy them as well. Have a magical day!
Samantha
