Hello there, Nancy!
Even though your cruise will depart right before Halloween, your departure from the “Big Apple” will give you a gorgeous view of the New York sights far from The Evil Queen’s Poisoned Apple. If you haven’t spent much time in
New York City, I recommend taking a bit of time before or after your cruise to see
Disney on Broadway or visit the
Disney Store in Times Square for the full experience.
Nancy, Disney Cruise Line has a limited supply of wheelchairs at the cruise terminal that can be used to assist with embarkation and debarkation. Either a member of the Guest’s party may push the wheelchair while in the terminal, or you can request a Cast or Crew member to assist in certain situations. It is strongly advised that Guests requiring the use of a wheelchair onboard travel with someone who is able to assist them aboard the ship and onshore.
I recommend giving
Disney Cruise Line Special Services a call to let them know that you expect to use a wheelchair and assistance in the terminal so that they can make a note of it before you arrive. Unfortunately, due to the various job responsibilities of the Cast and Crew Members, Guests cannot have a dedicated escort.
Please note that the wheelchairs at the terminal are not available for use onboard the ship. It is recommended that you
bring or rent a wheelchair for your own use aboard the ship. I hope these tips were helpful.
May the magic be with you!Melanie
