Hi Christine!
Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. RunDisney certainly accommodates wheelchair athletes during their races! During registration, runDisney asks you to choose one of the following:
- I plan to participate individually in one of the standard race divisions.
- I plan to participate in a Push Rim Racing Wheelchair (under my own power).
- I plan to participate in the Hand Cycle Exhibition (I understand this is not eligible for awards).
- I plan to participate individually, but will need a human race guide as a disability accommodation.
If you are not registered as a wheelchair participant, you are unable to have a wheelchair on the course. I called runDisney to double check, and unfortunately it is too late to change registration for the
Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend.
If you are registered as a wheelchair participant, Disney has a couple different
Wheelchair Rental Disney Featured Providers, that may be able to provide a wheelchair that would be safe for racing. If you just need one for the time you are in the parks, you also have the option to rent directly through Disney.
If you have any other questions or need further clarification please let me know or you can call runDisney at 407-939-iRun.
