Hiya Donaya!
Welcome to planDisney, the most magical place on the internet! I am so glad you decided to stop by and ask us your question, and I am so happy I can help you today. I have definitely had my fair share of Disney "oopsies" when planning my vacations, so I am right there with you. Often, I feel that something is bound to go wrong with my Disney vacation: rides go down on maintenance, storms roll in... but those bumps in the road always end up making the most magical memories!
Unfortunately,
theme park tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. However, there are a couple of things you can do with this extra theme park ticket! First, Disney theme park tickets practically do not expire. Indeed, the
value of unused theme park tickets can be applied as a credit toward your next purchase of tickets of equal or higher value. Only Disney Cast Members can do this, so you would have to either
call the Reservation Center or ask for help at a ticketing window at the main entrance of any of the four parks or Disney Springs. Secondly, unused theme park tickets can be
reassigned as many times as you want until their first use. Therefore, if you have a family member or friend who would like to use the ticket, you could transfer it to them. You can reassign a Disney theme park ticket to another user through the
My Disney Experience service if the recipient is in your Family & Friends List. Then, they would be able to use it by simply linking it to their MagicBand, or by using the
Disney MagicMobile service on their iPhone, Apple Watch or Google Pay-enabled Android Smartphone.
I know this may not have been the answer you were looking for, but with so many offerings returning to the Walt Disney World Resort, I always feel like I need to plan multiple trips throughout the year to be able to experience it all! Besides, with the
World's Most Magical Celebration ending in the spring of 2023, it would be the perfect occasion for you to use your extra ticket as a credit! You may even use the extra ticket and add the water parks or the park hopper options or
upgrade it to an Annual Pass. Although I do not live in Florida, I absolutely love being an Annual Passholder and could not see myself going back to using regular theme park tickets anytime soon!
I hope this was helpful, Donaya, and that you will have the best day ever on your next Disney vacation. If you have any other questions in the time leading up to your next visit, please don't hesitate to reach out. You're as welcome as can be!
Have a magical day, and see ya real soon,
Ariane
