What do I do if there is no availability for a dinner reservation the day we are at Animal Kingdom, specifically RainForest Cafe

    Hi Jennifer!

I'm happy to hEAR you're planning a WILD time at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park

Animal Kingdom Park is one of my favorite places to spend the day at Walt Disney World Resort. As the largest theme park in the world, covering over 580 acres, the environmentally-friendly park is home to hundreds of species of wild animals, amazing attractions, live entertainment, and delicious dining options. Every time I visit, I love the moment when we crest the hill as we enter, and the Tree of Life comes into view. Did you know there are over 300 animals carved into the trunk? There are many different locations throughout the park where you can see the carvings, but none better than the queue for It's Tough to be a Bug. The queue line winds through the trunk of the Tree of Life and is a great spot to see (and get pictures with) some of the intricate animal carvings.

No need to worry if you can't get a dinner reservation on the day you visit Animal Kingdom Park - there are some really great Quick Service locations in the park that don't require a reservation. In fact, one of my favorite restaurants in ALL of Walt Disney World Resort is a Quick Service location at Animal Kingdom - Satu'li Canteen. Located in Pandora - The World of Avatar, Satu'li Canteen serves some of the most delicious dishes on Disney property! Guests can custom-create their own Satu'li Bowl, which consists of a Base (Red and Sweet Potato Hash, Hearty Salad, Rice and Black Beans, or Noodles), Sauce (Black Bean Vinaigrette, Creamy Herb Dressing, Charred Green Onion Vinaigrette), and choice of Entree (Chopped Wood-Grilled Chicken, Slow-Roasted Sliced Grilled Beef, Chili Spiced Crispy Fried Tofu, Chili-Garlic Shrimp, or a Combination of Chicken/Beef). My go-to meal is the Combination Bowl with Rice and Black Beans and Creamy Herb Dressing - SO GOOD! They also offer delicious Cheeseburger Pods and a Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse that's to die for. I highly recommend this restaurant - it's a family favorite!

Other great dinner options in Animal Kingdom Park are Flame Tree Barbecue, featuring an assortment of smokehouse meat and plentiful chicken plates, and Restaurantosaurus, serving burgers and more in a dino-themed dorm.

If you have your heart set on dining at Rainforest Cafe, there is also a location at Disney Springs that accepts Advance Dining Reservations through the Walt Disney World website, as well as on rainforestcafe.com. You might have better luck scoring some seats that way! I also encourage you to keep an eye on the Animal Kingdom location for any openings, as Guests will sometimes readjust their plans as their trip dates get closer.

I hope this helps, and you're able to find the perfect way to satisfy your appetite when you visit Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park.
