Hi Jennifer,
Welcome back to planDisney! Your upcoming stay at the brand-new
Island Tower at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort sounds fantastic! You must be thrilled to experience a whole new world and the new amenities while still enjoying the timeless charm and tropical ambiance that the Polynesian Resort is known for. The new tower brings an elevated level of luxury with its modern accommodations. However, you'll still have access to all the classic favorites, like indulging in a refreshing DOLE Whip from
Pineapple Lanai or sipping a cocktail at
Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace while watching Happily Ever After fireworks from the beach in an Adirondack chair. That's the best of both worlds! I can't wait to dine at the new restaurant, Wailulu Bar & Grill, on my next visit, but I'll always cherish the resort's signature touches that make it feel like home.
As for your questions, since the Island Tower is so new, we planDisney panelists are still eagerly awaiting our chance to experience it firsthand! I contacted a Cast Member for clarification to ensure I gave you the most accurate information. I was informed that check-in and Bell Services are now available directly at the Island Tower. Instead of the traditional desk you might expect, look for friendly Cast Members equipped with tablets in the tower's lobby. They'll gladly assist you with check-in and coordinate with Bell Services (even if they must come from the Ceremonial House) for your grocery delivery and luggage. Of course, you can always plan to arrive via the Ceremonial House, where you'll find the more traditional check-in desk and Bell Services area conveniently near the main entrance to ensure you don't have to go back and forth. This flexibility will provide a smooth arrival experience, no matter your preference!
If you're planning a non-park day, may I suggest one of my favorite activities: resort hopping on the monorail! Start your adventure at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa by exploring its elegant shops and relaxing at the
Enchanted Rose Lounge. Then, head to Disney's Contemporary Resort to browse
Bayview Gifts and savor a meal at
Steakhouse 71. Finally, end your day back at the Polynesian, with your toes in the sand, enjoying the serene view of Seven Seas Lagoon. If you'd like help planning a similar itinerary or other non-park day adventures,
I'd be delighted to help!
Wishing you an unforgettable stay,
Brent
