We've taken three cruises to the Bahamas and loved each one, but we wish we had more time on land. Can we make arrangements with DCL to sail on one boat to the Bahamas, stay 3-4 nights there at a resort, and return on another boat?

    Hi David!

We "ARRRRR" so happy to welcome you aboard here at planDisney! Yo ho ho! It’s a pirate’s life for you with three cruises under your belt. Captain Mickey and his crew always love to have returning Guests onboard for swashbuckling adventures at sea...from the Bahamas to the Caribbean (the pirates' favorite)!

The Disney Cruise Line sailings to the Bahamas are what we call closed loop cruises that leave from a U.S. port and return to the same U.S. port. It is anticipated that all Guests who board the ship will return on the same voyage, so spending extra time in a particular port or adding a few days ashore is just not feasible. Captain Mickey is contractually obligated to get you to and from your itinerary’s destinations and arrive back to shore with the same passengers who started the journey.

If you’d like to maximize your time ashore on Nassau, then I suggest that you book one of the Nassau Port Adventures at either Pearl Island or Blue Lagoon. But if you'd rather experience one of the local resorts in Nassau, then you can arrange a day pass as a direct booking with the resort. Be advised that with this option, you would need to arrange your own transportation to/from the port to the resort. Having selected this before as our ashore adventure in Nassau, I can say that we loved every minute of our royal Bahamian treatment. We were able to enjoy all the amenities of the resort, savor its private island, and scope out the place as a future travel spot. All in all, it proved to be a marvelous day ashore and a scouting trip for another vacation destination.

Hopefully you will keep Disney Cruise Line on your family’s travel list for MINNIE more vacations to come. We are always here to help you with your Disney vacation planning...in fact, we live for it, so please come back by planDisney anytime!

    Happy Sailing!
