Hi there!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. Let's dive right in...to the details!
I see that you've done your research and are aware that
Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool will be closed for routine maintenance for the first half of 2025, and unfortunately, this does include the pools as well as their surrounding recreation and beach areas. Happily, Disney's
Yacht and
Beach Clubs offer three other leisure pools (Tidal, Admiral, and Dunes Cove) that will be available for your enjoyment during your stay. While these pools don't offer a sandy play area for children, you should still have access to the beach area that borders Crescent Lake. There's no water access here, but there's sand (and plenty of it) for your littles to create a picture-perfect sand castle.
I think you'll find that Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts truly embody the magic of The Most Magical Place on Earth. While their immersive nautical and coastal theming, delicious dining, and incredible pools get most of the attention, I can't overstate how much I adore their ideal location. The ability to walk to Disney's Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, the Disney Skyliner, and the many dining options of Disney's BoardWalk is a game changer, so while it might be disappointing that Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool will be unavailable during your stay, I think you'll feel there are many other benefits that more than make up for any inconvenience this causes.
As a bonus tip: Did you know that planDisney recently launched a
new Resort Guide video series? My pals Amy and Matt helpfully walk (and slide!) you through the public areas, rooms, restaurants, pools, and amenities of Disney's Beach Club Resort, so I encourage you to take the time to check it out as you continue to count down.
I hope this information was helpful! If any additional questions arise as your countdown to magic continues, don't hesitate to
stop back by. I'm always happy to help!
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
