We've got reservations at the Cabin's at Fort Wilderness and are planning to go to MK one day and Epcot one day. Would love to find the best ways to get to/from the parks. Would prefer the Water Launch and Monorail. Would these be good options?

Hi Laura! I spend many weeks at the great Fort Wilderness Resort in our motor coach and love the atmosphere there. Transportation is just like any other Disney resort except that this one is a large area so the internal buses are a necessity for many.

The only way to get to the Magic Kingdom park from Fort Wilderness is to take the boat from the marina. It is a long walk from the cabin loops but it can be done on sidewalks the entire way if you feel ambitious. You can also rent a golf cart for your stay and use the cart to get to the marina and the front of the park bus depot. Otherwise the internal buses will take you to either end and in between.

The fastest way to get to the Epcot park is to take the direct bus from the front of the park. The buses depart every 15-20 minutes and there is a covered area to wait. If you wanted to take the monorail you would have to take the boat to the Magic Kingdom and then hop on the Ferry or the monorail that stops at the Transportation and Ticket Center. There you would transfer to the Epcot monorail line that would drop you off at the front of the park. Monorails can be quite unpredictable so doing it this way can be taking a chance.

So it is the boat to the Magic Kingdom and my vote for Epcot is the bus.
