Hi, We've purchased park tickets through a third party which included magic bands. I assume these will the basic plain coloured design? If so, are we are able to pay the difference and to get the character design ones? Thanks

    Hi Stacey!
    Welcome to planDisney.

It is always a pleasure to answer questions from another UK guest, and I am happy to help you with questions about your Disney Bands.

As you have purchased your park tickets and are receiving complimentary Disney Bands through a company that is not affiliated with The Walt Disney Travel Company, or anything officially linked to Walt Disney World I don't know which design you will receive (it's most likely a plain colour, from what I've seen, but I don't know for sure) and unfortunately, you won't be permitted to pay the difference on an upgrade.

However, there is some good news!  You can have your complimentary Disney Bands set up for you when you arrive, and if you later purchase some designs that you prefer you can link those Disney Bands to your account at any time during your stay.  All the gift shops at Disney hotels usually hold a limited amount of stock of Disney Bands, so you can make your purchase when you arrive, and have the Front Desk set them up for you straightaway.

If you decide to wait until you can choose from an even larger selection, several places around the Resort sell Disney Bands.  At Disney Springs (D-Tech on Demand at Marketplace Co-Op and World of Disney), and in the theme parks, the Emporium at Magic Kingdom Park, Creations Shop at EPCOT and Mickey's of Hollywood at Disney's Hollywood Studios all have good selections, for example.

Alternatively, you could purchase Disney Bands from, to have them delivered to your Disney Resort Hotel before your arrival. This is something I often do, as they have a good selection, and sometimes they have some lovely limited editions.  Ensure you enter the delivery address as "Your Name" + "GUEST arriving" - insert your arrival date - then add the name and address of your Disney hotel, which can be found on the hotel's Overview page on the website.  On arrival, you can have your Disney Bands linked to your account.  I like to place my order around 10 days before I arrive to ensure the package is waiting for me.  It should be noted that you will be charged a Resort fee of around $6.00 (subject to change) for any package received for you by the Front Desk.

Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions - you can even send me a direct question if you wish.  We will be happy to help you plan your magical holiday!
