We’ve purchased 5 Downey World tickets, but it looks like we might not be able to go this year. Can I convert those tickets for a credit for a Disney Cruise next year?

Hey there, Raymond! Welcome to planDisney.

It is a bummer when you have to change vacation plans especially when it involves the fun and nostalgia of Walt Disney World Resort. However, your plan to sail with Captains Mickey and Minnie is a seaworthy option for any Mouseketeer.

Disney Cruise Line and Walt Disney World Resort are separate companies that will partner for Disney Land and Sea Package but are otherwise separate. Unfortunately, a Walt Disney World Theme Park ticket purchase may not be applied towards a cruise. However, you may change your ticket dates by chatting with a Cast Member about your situation. Theme Park tickets will stay in your MyDisney account until the expiration date then disappear but they do not really "disappear." Tickets may be saved for future dates but the cost may change. If the future admission price is more than you originally paid, you will pay the difference when you decide to use them. If the ticket value is less you will not be refunded the difference.

Ticket modifications may be done through the My Disney Experience app or online as well. Here is how:

    My Disney Experience online

    • Log in to your My Disney account
    • Scroll down to "Tickets, Passes & Memory Maker"
    • Find your ticket and click "Change Ticket"
    • A calendar should appear showing you the new date-based prices.

    My Disney Experience App

    • Download and open the app
    • Click on the Feature Menu (≡) on the lower right
    • Tap on My Tickets & Passes
    • Find your ticket and click "Change Ticket"
    • A calendar should appear showing you the new date-based prices

I hope this clears up any confusion and helps you to enjoy the magic and mystery either on land or by sea.

Raymond, please feel free to contact planDisney with any follow-up questions or for more Disney vacation planning advice.

    Enjoy making many Magical memories.
