We’ve been planning a trip for a large group and some members are no longer planning to attend. We want to transfer tickets to new members that will be taking their place, can we transfer the original tickets to a single person that can then redistribute?

    Hi Michael,

    Welcome to planDisney!

I’m so excited to hear that you’re preparing for a great, big, beautiful Walt Disney World Resort vacation with a large party. Growing up, our big family vacations were some of my greatest memories!

Since your Theme Park tickets are unused, you should be able to transfer them to another guest in your party. Please keep in mind that once each of your guests enter the Theme Park for the first time, their tickets become non-transferable.

To transfer the tickets, you’ll want to make sure you’re signed into the My Disney Experience mobile app first. When ready, from the home screen of the app, select the three horizontal lines in the lower right-hand corner. Next, select the box titled “Tickets and Passes”. If your tickets are linked in the My Disney Experience mobile app, you should see all your party’s tickets in this section. Scroll until you find the tickets you’d like to reassign. Under the rectangle with the ticket information, you should see an icon titled “Reassign Ticket”. Once selected, you’ll be able to choose the new guest from your Family and Friends List. If the new guest hasn’t traveled with you before, you’ll want to add them to your Family and Friends List before you start the reassigning process.

Since your vacation is coming up soon, I also wanted to mention that within the My Disney Experience mobile app, you can utilize Disney MagicMobile Service. Once you’ve reassigned the tickets and have your Disney Park Pass reservations, check out Disney MagicMobile so you can add the tickets to your phone’s digital wallet. This way, you can just hold up your phone to do things like enter the Theme Parks or use Disney PhotoPass. In My Disney Experience, select the three horizontal lines in the right-hand corner again, and choose the box titled “Disney MagicMobile” then press the “+” in the upper right-hand corner. You will be able to create passes for all your guests who have Theme Park tickets. This is a super convenient service that I highly recommend using!

I hope this “Bit By Bryanna” is helpful as you prepare for your vacation later this month. In the meantime, if you have any other planning or vacation questions, please feel free to reach out, I’m always happy to help!
