We've planned at trip to WDW in Sep 13, to celebrate my son's 7th birthday, and we're so excited! We're staying a Carribean Beach and it looks great. I really need some advice to make his special day extra special without breaking the bank.

    Nina,

He is going to have so much fun celebrating his birthday there at the parks. I have some great budget friendly suggestions for you.

My first suggestion would be to let the front desk know you are celebrating his birthday when you check-in. They will give him a birthday button (free) with his name on it. Have him where the button the entire trip, not just on his special day. He will love all the special attention he gets just by wearing that! Also, at check-in, you can arrange for a special birthday phone call from a Disney character.

Another idea would be to let any server (table service only) know about the birthday when you dine on his special day. For a fee (around $25), you can ask for a 6-inch celebration cake (not customized) at the podium when arriving for a table service meal. If you would prefer to order a customized cake, you can call the cake hotline at (407) 827-2253 and make those arrangements. Depending on the size and type of cake, the price will vary.

Be sure to let any characters that you meet know that it's his birthday when signing his autograph book. When you are in Epcot, you can purchase a passport at many of the retail shops and as you go around to the different countries in the World Showcase, let them know it is his birthday and when they stamp it, they might even write a special birthday message in their language! This could make for a fun souvenir for him to keep for years to come that commemorates this day!

Lastly, head down to the beach at the Caribbean Beach Resort for a nightly campfire (weather permitting), where there are sing-a-longs and s'mores. Check with the front desk to get the time and exact location where it is offered. This is complimentary and open to all resort guests.  This would be a fun way to cap off his amazing day!

I hope this gave you some fun and unique ideas to celebrate his 7th birthday!
